I am once again intrigued by how the practices of man shape the thoughts of man. (Proverbs 16:3) The man that commits his works to the Lord shall have his thoughts established. Notice the connection of what we practice and what we think. (Proverbs 23:7) As a man thinks in his heart so is he…what a man does helps shape and consume his thoughts. If you want to think right…do right! If you want to do right…think right!
The man that is diligent in his practice…counts his blessings in his thoughts. This diligent man is a man that is patient in his course. He perseveres through difficulties, he is content to gain little by little, he is not slothful in his business, nor is he yielding to discouragement. The diligent understands the value of God’s blessings and with every degree of progress, with every victory accomplished he always recognizes the “plenty” in his life.
The “hasty” never really enjoys or is thankful for the blessings or the journey, but can only covet the next big thing of want. The hasty are never industrious, never diligent, and never satisfied.
Be diligent in all that you do…you are doing for the Lord. Don’t miss the blessings of the now for something you are looking for in the future!
