Proverbs 13:20, “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”

One of the greatest influences in the life of any individual is their “companions”; their friends. It is amazing the power of influence a friendship wields. Companions can entice you into doing such things that ought not be done or they can inspire you to do all that God has put into your heart. Wisdom is gained not only in the classroom but among right companions. “He” that is going to be wise and avoid destruction must establish boundaries for his companions. H
is companions must be wise.

1) They must be saved and fear God. Proverbs 9:10; Psalm 53:1

2) They must be “walking” in the right direction. Proverbs 14:16

3) They must have the right attitude toward God’s authority. Proverbs 9:8

4) They may not always be among your peers. Proverbs 24:6

You will be known by the companions you keep. Your companions will be known by you. Together your companionship is a great reflection of who you are and how you honor the Lord.
